Expect a very unique experience sat Belford Hostel. The hostel operates in a lively converted church with Gothic vibes. Belford was one of Edinburgh’s original hostels offering quality budget accommodation for students and backpackers. The hostel has a great location which is just A short walk from Princes Street Shops, attractions and the funtastic New Town nightlife. Centrally located in the beautiful West End right beside the beautiful Dean bridge and village.

Our dormitory accommodation is located within the old church hall complete with stained glass windows! Dorm sizes range from 2-10.
We operate a private residents bar and outdoor BBQ area for the exclusive use of our guests. It’s a great place to relax and unwind after a hard days travelling or sightseeing, and an ideal spot to meet fellow travellers. We have a darts board, a pool table and a big screen which is great for watching movies and live sport. Oh, and the good news is there’s always a drinks special on offer.

The Hostel is located between Edinburgh Haymarket and Waverley Rail stations. Both stations are about 10 minutes walk. Take a short stroll to Princes Street. Then have lunch right underneath the castle which sits on a dormant volcano. Maybe exit the Gardens at Castle Terrace and take a 2 minute walk into the Grassmarket and Edinburgh’s historic old town.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
You may cancel your booking up to 72hrs hours before arrival. Less than 72hrs notice the first night will be charged.
Groups must provide more that 1 month’s notice of cancellation or amendments.Deposits paid are nonrefundable.
Check-in time is from 2pm. Check ot time is 10amu
***In the event of a no-show (non arrival) without cancellation you will be charged the full amount.***
***Photo ID (Drivers Licence, Passport) is required to check-in to the hostel. If you are unable to produce photo ID on arrival we will not honour your booking.***
The Serious Stuff
Due to our guests being of an adult age we do not accept under 12’s in our dormitories.
10 key deposits per person are required at check-in.
Debit Card Charge GBP 0.50 Credit Card Charge – 2%
Groups of six or more people may be subject to a GBP 20 per person security deposit, which will be refunded upon departure, pending a room check and appropriate behavior.
Smoking is now illegal in all public places; thus, the hostel is 100% non-smoking. There is a minimum charge of GBP 50 if you smoke in this hostel.
During the month of August/Rugby/Bank Holiday Weekends/Easter/Hogmanay The hostel will charge your card the full amount one month before arrival. If you will be arriving in less than a month the charge will be made within 24hrs. Cancellations – 1 month > 14 days before arrival we will retain 25% or the first night – Less than 14 days notice no refund will be given.
If your card is declined your booking will be cancelled.
Hogmanay Special Please Note: For All Hogmanay Bookings, your credit card will be charged the full outstanding amount shortly after the booking is made. Cancellations made more than 14 days before the arrival date will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the arrival date shall not receive any refund.

At Belford Hostel we can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 98 persons. Sorry but we do not accepts Stag or hen Parties. We regularly welcome large summer groups of all types and sizes to Edinburgh Scotland. Language, student, sports groups and famailes are all welcome. We do accept student groups with persons under the age of 16.
